I remember reading "the falcon and the snowman", and the sequel,
"the flight of the falcon".
If I recall the Falcon headed for the panhandle as that was traditionally where the outlaws hid out. He was there for awhile until the FBI finally caught up with him, just before he was going to fly a small plane to the USSR and safety.
