The machine I have is a Miller Matic 212 duty cycle 60% at 160 amps. you can run .023 thru .035 solid carbon or stainless wire 22 thru 3/8 material or .30 thru .045 flux cored wire uses 25# spools.
The best feature is the auto set where you set the material thickness and machine automatically adjusts for amps/volts.
I use a mixture of gas 75% CO2 25% argon runs better in short arc mode but is capable of spray transfer mode at higher amps.
Stainless steel use 98% argon 2% oxygen.
Aluminum use Helium.
Machine cost $2100.00 it is a little steep but you will never have to replace. Gas cost varies.
CO2 120CFt $45.00.
Argon 120CFt $60.00.
Helium 120Cft $90.00 is what I pay
oyou will also have to pay rental fee on tanks if you don't own them.
All quoted costs are in my area East Texas. yours may differ.
