Simple. Same reasons I addressed in the article I wrote for PWA about it. Better braking, off the shelf tubeless wheels and tires, better parts availability, more strength, and many gear ratios to pick from. If I break something, and I may well not, I can get parts from Napa typically the same day. Stock axles, well, a few things can come from Napa, but anything internal is typically days from VPW. And I won't deal with VPW unless it is an absolute last resort. I build my stuff to drive and use everyday, I want something that is dependable and will do highway speed while still having plenty of power. And I don't like new trucks with all their cheesy body tin and electronic fluff, so.......
