The ones that have a separate brass tube fitting can have washer/shims inserted. The more washers, the less travel under more sprjg pressure.

Others use a hex shape to the stamping. The hex holds a hex nut inside from turning. Insert a little hex key through the hose port to turn an allen screw to adjust spring pressure. It works left handed- turn screw to left to increase pressure- I think. IIRC, I had to re-work the adjustable diaphragem on the /6 electronic dist that I modified to fit the 230. At the Dyno Shop, the tune up guys would bring me an advance unit to have me weld a tab across the inner end of the slot that the rod moved in. That would restrict the length of travel to the high tension end of stoke, bot limiting total and slowing it.
