Glen, I'm having similar problems with my poly. Totally rebuilt with all new. I am beginning to think I got the timing chain one tooth off. I will check the valve lash again. It runs really strong at higher rpm but idles very poorly. It's not a vacuum issue because the vacuum gauge is perfectly steady at 19 at idle. With two separate carbs it acts the same. Mark P
