Transfer case rebuild

Hey I've got my transfer case all tore apart some one rebuilt it and let it sit in a field for who knows how long with out oil in it noticed in the bottom there was a bunch of bent up shims any one know where they go back? Thanks in advance dave, all the gears where fine the bearings are all locked up.
