The longer the stroke, the higher the torque, the shorter the stroke, the higher the HP.
A prime example is a 302 GM motor that came in the Z28, or the 340 motors...both short stroke, extremely high reving...but exactly the opposite of what you want in a truck.
A stroked 318 or a stroked 383....now you're talking about a great truck engine! :)
The 383 I installed the stroker kit in made over 600ft/lbs of torque.
I'd love to install a stroker kit in the Fargo's 313 but it runs perfect & so unless that changes..I can't justify the cost.
