I am going through this with mine now. My frame was NOS and had original glass in it. I polished it out and gave it to the chromer to plate. After getting it back, took it to a glass guy who told me AFTER he had the glass in that the frame was bent and would probably crack the glass eventually. It did within 6 months.

Why/where it got tweaked I have no idea but it was. I put the 2 halves together without glass and pushed in the middle. I used a large carpet covered table and my dead weight! Didn't take much but you also have to sight the edges.

Hold the frame on one of the ends so the glass is flat and look towards the center. You should have straight or equally spaced lines to the center peak, If it tails off on one end or peaks at the joint it will crack your glass. I haven't heard anyone pass this info on so hopefully it'll save someone the hassle I've had.

I bends easier than I expected so I guess that is why they get out of whack sometimes.
