However, if it was rebuilt, the whole engine would have been cleaned and probably painted at the same time, and rusty accessories probably wouldn't have been left on or left rusty either. If nothing else, the head bolts would have at least been de-rusted. And yet here we have everything rusty except the core plug. That tells me it's special about the plug that kept it from rusting, not that it's newer than everything else under the hood. But hey, maybe I'd like to believe my girlfriend was a virgin before I met her too.
