geyserville cal., not much salt air but maybe previous owner had it nearer the coast or somewhere else, but that does not really make any sense because the cab floor and chassis are in good shape

plus i bet they did not use galvanized freeze plugs when the motor was made and if they did it would be rusty by now especially if there was salt air--does not match the rest of the motors outside condition

my guess it is a rebuild and they did it when they added another 10 leaves to the spring pack----when this was done si anybodies guess

you may be right to some degree as far as salt air goes looking at the this pic, lot of surface rust but it goes no deeper than that

also the spring pack and the rear of the truck is coated in asphalt or some such must have been a road building work truck of some sort
