I'm getting ready to clean and paint the chassis of the 6x6. I have removed everything from the frame except the springs, axles, drums and wheels, so we can move it around easier. I plan to have the chassis sandblasted (with sand), then prep the roughened steel with foam sanding blocks, then prime and paint.

Are there better ways to blast than with sand that don't cost a ton and don't require sanding? The frame has a minor amount of rust, but has been undercoated at some point, which I want to remove.

I will also remove all the grease zerks and differential breathers and plug them with pipe plugs. Any suggestions on how to keep sand out of the wheel cylinders, other than several wraps of duct tape around the hydraulic bolts?
