"I got the pin to turn, but it still won't come out"
That tells me that the pis is so worn there is a serious ridge or worn down area. This ridge or worn down area is catching on the hanger when you try to pull it out.
I sense this is not going to be easy. I would try first putting a jack under spring and try pushing up ever so slightly as you try to pull her. If this does not work, try putting a bar between the spring and hanger and try to shift it a little while pulling.
Somehow you must line up the worn down area so it matches the hole and will pull out. This may take some doing.
The wax trick may still help in providing some real lube to help her slide once you get her all lined up.
