I installed a 6BT in a 6x6 several years ago. I had tried several front spring combinations. I found that VPW sells an NOS top leaf with new bushings installed for the front. They are 3/8" thick. I then took a rear spring pack and disassembled it. Take the loose leafs from the rear springs as they are 3/8" thick and basically build up a new front spring by combining the NOS top leaf with the loose rears. This set-up supported that big engine very well. It also improved the ride as there was no more bottoming out of the spring on the frame bumper.
