I disagree with you Michael. The 270 is a nice old antique engine but no more hp or torque than a common 318 poly.
I just don't really understand the craze over "Hemi" engines.
I realize the hemispherical head is the best design out there in gasoline engines but I bet you'd find it a lot easier breaking axles with any V8 gas engine over a 4BT that's been turned up & has 500lbs of torque, can pull a huge trailer & gets at least double the fuel economy.
An inline diesel builds its power in a manner that's a lot more forgiving on axles & gears than a high rpm gasoline engine making the same power.
I'll take a fully restored WDX-WM300 with 4BT over the HI truck any day!
That's what me thinks anyway :)
