I know a lot of you, as well as myself, have seen issues with the bed being ~48" from the ground. It's ~1.5" higher off the frame to accommodate the XZL's, and the truck sets 2+" higher off the ground because of the XZL's (based on before/after measurements). This means the bed is about ~4" above what I'd expected on a stock truck (~44").

I have 8" of upward axle travel in the rear suspension, the distance between the axle and the bump stops. Now my truck has a set of extra-extra heavy duty leaf springs (not sure how or who) and I never expect the truck will be loaded enough to use the full 8".

Looking at photos of flat bed trucks, I always see the bed closer to the tires than the pick-up bed fenders. However on flat bed trucks did they add a spacer to the bump stops to lower the travel and thus allow the beds to be mounted closer to the frame?

Thanks,
Will
