If you are referring to the upper hinge bracket mounts, Yes, some of them were held on with screws. My original frame on my WC40 Military had screws. The NOS military frame I found did not(picture)

I thought I heard that some of the early 2wds had the screws as well. Probably switched them all to the welded style.
