Seal the center hinges too.

I took my piano hinges apart on the last paint job. I will on the current one because I need to swap in a side wing, may as well do both the same. And I didn't want rust to show when they get laid open. But paint gets scratched off anyhow. Wax is out friend. I may try it some day. Rubbing out might help too. And that plastc\ic chrome door edge protector might help us prevent the hood edge from chipping the cowls.

Might be a good idea to drill some small holes while it's apart, so you can oil it later?

Plus, the center seams leak rain water onto the head, and drown the spark plugs. Sealing the center hinge would be a good idea, certainly if you have that apart. I don't know how well it can be sealed if still assembled.
