The first is why the factory jack is usually missing from a junker: An old friend, now deceased, a retired tow truck driver said he knew what happened to the jacks. According to Gene, countless times, by the time he got to an accident with his wrecker--the first witnesses had already stolen the jack. He said he knew they grabbed it because it was handy--no clue to what they would do with it..."probably throw it out in the yard, 'having to move it every time they mowed!" At the time he died he still had not figured out WHY ??
The other one is why an incredible number of old trucks (and cars) have had the breather removed...no trace of the air cleaner. Why are they never put back...is there a secret religion that uses them to burn incense? ...maybe they are used for pet food dishes or bird baths...mostly though they're just gone, with a nasty looking carb grinning at you.
The best I can figure is that guys like Tim Holloway have an underground stash and can get whatever you need.
