I was rummaging around looking or a small tap wrench today and found a tool I didn't even know I had. It's a little tap wrench about 6" long. The whole wrench is plated and polished so it looks like a mirror and feels like glass, except for the adjuster that is perfectly knurled with a hole through it for extra leverage. When I turn the adjuster, it feels like a good micrometer, smooth as silk, with zero backlash or grittiness. It holds the tap with absolutely no wobble or tendency to work loose. When I look closer at the flat, I read:

THE L.S. STARRTT CO.
ATHOL MASS. U.S.A.
== No 91-A ==

Sometimes I forget how much we've lost, and then something like this falls through a time warp and reminds me.
