VPW and others are selling what is called a Mitey Might and other spellings are used. Save your money. These motors look like they are built in a home basement. The case is a small plastic box used normally to house small electronic components. The gears are all plastic. Even heavy rain will slow them down. In 2000, I bought a set of these, total waste of money. All they do is allow the vehicle to pass state inspection which requires a working wipers /wipers.

I have done a lot of seaching and as of yet have not found anything in the electric line that will really handle serious winter conditions.

Speaking with a Trico Engineer, he stated in his knowledge there is nothing available in a small marine type wiper motor to handle serious winter conditions. He stated you must find a motor package that has a large motor that is outboard of the gear box. Trico DOES NOT make such a wiper.

The problem with this type of wiper is that the motor shaft must be on the same plane as the output shaft. When you look in the overhead valance where the wipers mount, you will quickly notice that one motor must be mounted facing left, the other right. If the motor plane is not the same as the out put plane, when you mount the wipers in oposite directions, one wiper output will come out the cab at a different plane from the other.

I recently saw a small ford transport type van. I have the name in my shop. This ford truck used a rear window wiper that 'appeared' to have close to the right sweep.
This 'might' be a possible source for a motor. I will be checking this out as soon as I get time.

Till then, save your money on known junk. TGP's post os right on the money.

Paul
