I have used Centari and Nason from Dupont with good luck. Paul in NY is right though about the cost. A quart of Centari six years ago was roughly $37, and now goes for $86 without the reducer or hardener.

Do it right once the first time, and remember that the preparation is as important than the application.

You need to become friends with your local auto paint supplier. Find one you like and tell him what your doing and looking for, and how comfortable you are shooting paint. I have two local guys at different vendors where I am. They used to both work at the same store when I met them. Now I have a tendency to pitch one against the other in an effort to try and reduce costs.

Keep in mind that the darker colors tend to be more expensive to purchase. Red, Yellow, and Orange also usually require a few coats to get the color to "pop" especially if a darker primer is used.

Nothing worse than painting a Farmall tractor National Red and getting the parts back on, only to roll it out into the sunshine to see the shadow of primer.

The other option is to find a paint shop that will paint it for you after you do the body work and primer yourself. This may prove to be harder, as body shops do make a bit of income on the preparation process.
