I'm not sure how your frames are built but I had some issues the same way on my W200. Not as bad as yours it sounds but I didn't like it and wanted to make sure I would not have trouble loaded heavy. What I did was cut some plate steel to fit the full length inside the frame. I was able to cover from just in front of the rear spring hangar to right behind the rear hanger for the front springs. I did some mods so had the TC cross member out and was able to bolt the plate behind that and used bolts in all the other already available holes. Since I moved the cross member I also had the old rivet holes to bolt through. You can't even tell it's there unless you were to look extremely close and even then I don't think you can tell except at the ends. That's been over ten years, hunting every year and I hauled one load of 5,000 lbs gravel grossing 10,700 lbs. No trouble with any of that except the rock. Not enough weight on the front to steer well. I have air bags on the rear for main spring work and the guy was impressed when I pumped the rear up to sit about 3" higher than when i came in.
