Neil, I got to come clean..I bought a Duramax in Edmonton for cheap & I love the thing! I hate the look but that tranny is the cats pj's. I can pull a 10k load at 60mph & even the biggest hills that engine has gobs of power...doesn't even shift down.
Longevity....we'll see but I removed the DPF & downloaded a program & it runs 500hp- 800lbs+ torque & no tranny/torque converter problems in 50k.
It averages 16.5mpg towing 10k lbs.
So far so good other than I can't find an annoying rattle in the door & my LH door lock actuator broke.
I agree...the Dodge looks better but the GMC will drive circles around it.
