I'm sorry if I missed a post, but where in the Constitution does it say that it is the job of the Federal Government is to provide cheap gasoline? If you want to quote the commerce clause please do, but that also let's the Fed regulate how we buy health care, and that is a very slippery slope.

But as other's have said, I would over specify the capacity of the trailer axle bearings, brakes and tire sizes, while it will increase friction, it should also vastly decrease maintenance required on the trailer. My experience on commercial use trailers of this type is that the bodies and doors wear out first.
