We used to have a problem with cats getting in the garage and peeing on everything. They would use the sawdust pile under the saw for a litter box. My dad laid some fencing wire around all their favorite peeing places. Didn't take long. My aunt used to put dishes of anti-freeze on a flat part of her roof. I wouldn't condone that but it did reduce the number of alley cats fighting on her roof.
