One of the best ideas I have seen was a 'JONES' plug and socket mounted on the frame by the front right and left fender.

This 'JONES' plug allows you to remove the fenders with the headlights and directionals by just unplugging the plug. Easy and quick and fool proof. Jones plugs have locking tabs so they can not come apart. I am doing it on both my PW;s.
