I would suggest wrapping the wire looms with harness tape, which is like electrical tape, but is dry, not sticky. Eastwood carries it and I used it on the harness I made for my Plymouth. I would also recommend soldering the terminals and maybe even using heat-shrink on the ends where the terminals meet. Professionally made harnesses are pretty expensive because of the amount of work that goes into them. You can do it yourself if you take the time. Go for it!
