I just spent several hours with Steve Wataha in Rock Springs, WY yesterday going over some of his projects. He showed me how he does 230 to 265 engine swaps.

1. Move the cab forward a small amount
2. Move the mount points of the Floating Power frame forward about 1-inch.
3. Slot the holes for the radiator frame to move it forward slightly.
4. Relief cut arcs on the ends of the fan blades to help clear the lip on the radiator top tank. He has done this with both 4 blade and 6 blade fans.
5. Cut a strip about 3/4" out of the sides of the radiator support frame and weld a new piece in so the radiator moves forward about 3/4".
6. Modify the winch extensions so they are about 1 1/2" to 2" longer.
7. Have a radiator shop move the filler neck back as far as it can go, about 1/2".
8. Open up the distance between the front of the cab and the rear of the radiator shroud so the hood has a little more clearance at both ends.
All of these little moves add up to enough movement overall to allow the radiator filler neck to go through the original hole in the top of the radiator cap. It's a lot of work, but when he finishes, it all looks factory. Hope this helps.
