318/360 identification ?

Are there any tips to tell the difference between a 360 and 318. The motor in question is painted blue with a 2-barrel carburetor. By the looks of the AC compressor and alternator, I'd say it came from the 80's or early 90's. It has an automatic transmission. The motor has been half-way installed in a rough '39 Dodge coupe. My friend bought the car just for the sheetmetal. If I can verify what engine it is, I may use it in a Power Wagon.
