What standards did the Model "A" pass. Each car/engine combination has different standards. The efficiancy of the newer engines is better than a good running one from 20 years ago. A properly tune "High" performance pre-smog engine would be cleaner than a regular engine but would never pass the standards of a fuel injected catalyst engine of the past 10 years or so.
