Well.. you guys know.. I do LOVE my truck.. one HUGE down fall is that i drive 60+ miles a day.. on my old volvo (which is for sale if you know of ANYONE who wants one.. I will deliver anywhere in california.. or will trade for labor....) which turned into 14,000 miles since august... thats 30,000+ miles a year.. figureing I drive my truck alot... which I know will make it.. first off, I need my tranny rebuilt if I can.. where is some place in northern california that will do a good job?? Or is there someone on the board who will do it?? I also have LOTS of inperial parts.. if anyone wants some in trade... including 8 3/4" rear ends...
Now for the second thing, I NEED better gas milage... I will do just about anything at this point... I get between 11 to 13 now..well.. with the factory 2bbl holley... which is now on my power wagon (smog). Now I run a edelbrock 4bbl performer, and 600 cfm square bore edelbrock carb (with adapter)... I woudl like 17 mpg if I could.. I KNOW it is possiable.. some how.. i would love it if I could.. then I could use this truck to tow my power wagon... and be a daily driver... Any ideas?? oh, and I run dual glass packs (nothing else.. straight through) and 3.23 gears in the 8 1/4" rear... which I want to change to a 8 3/4" rear, with sure grip... or a 9 1/4" with posi.. not sure of the gears yet... I just need something better.. my volvo gets 22.. and i figure if I can sell it for 5500 (it is an 88 wagon) I could keep this and drive it all the time.. which I woudl LOVE.. anyway... thanks soo much for the help... I am ready to start driving it again.. then maybe I can finish my 77 Power wagon, and my 65 mercedes.. and I will be back good as new... thanks again. Garrett
