i will leave it to others to opine on the quality of the rubber gaskets on the windshield frames, but if you ordered the part from either of the two vendors you mentioned, you likely have the right part as that frame is used on both the civvy and military truck of that period. if your windshield fits without the gasket in your truck cab opening, you have the right frame. if you have the right frame and gasket, yours is a user / operator error situation and i mean that in a non judgmental way. the gasket is not easy to install the first time, but like anything else, once you see it done or struggle doing it yourself, you will get better at it each successive time. check your parts for fit, read up on the tips to install it here on the archives and get it done. fuel sender is a little trickier. you have to get the sender that will work with your wiring. some trucks have a 2 wire sender setup and wiring and some only have one. add in the 12v conversion on some trucks and you have another mixed bag. best course of action is to take stock of your wiring and get a sender to match. best to check the gage and sender on the bench, using the correct 6v reducer if needed for proper operation. if they work on the bench and not on your truck you can then chase down wiring.
