I had a really close call when I was 20...I had to pull the transmission on my pride & joy to do syncros...a 66 corvette I had traded my new 82 Trans Am for :) This was my first vintage vehicle & to this day, still my favorite (sorry Dodge guys :)
I put the front of the car up on ramps so I had room to get under it & whent under & undid everything. I planned to get the floor jack to lift the M21 down but once it was lose, I felt I could just lift it down no problem. I wiggled it lose & as soon as the input shaft disengaged, the car started slowly rolling back & down the ramps! I reallized the funny little drum brake emergency set up these cars have wouldn't hold the car on the slope & she came down on me hard.
Luckily my father was within earshod & came running with the floor jack but I was still on the ball enough to make sure he put that floor jack on the frame as opossed to the fiberglass floor he was attempting to lift on, which would have ruined my car! :) :)
It can happen quick...for sure.
