Older Dana axles for chevs used to be able to install a tapered wedge between the spindle and the knuckle area. They were available in various degrees to repair or fix a damaged or bent housing for alignment. A competent machinist could make up a thin 1/4-1/2 degree wedge for our trucks and install it to reduce the larger wheels exaggerated camber. The larger the wheel you install the further out the stock geometry becomes and the load patch of the tire moves away from where it was designed to be.

There are two types of shims, 1 at the upper ball joint socket area and the second at the spindle.
