12 V conversion.
We can assume there is a ballast resistor at the coil?
If so the points are good, not burnt or pitied?,Clean?
I would replace the condenser. They do go bad but not often,however the newer parts are made with inferior material and do give more trouble than back in the day.
Also Vaughn has a good trouble shooting guide in his PIF under Group 17 Electrical at the top of this page.
No need for me to type it out.
