Same problem here. We have cluster mail boxes about 1/4 mile from the house. The wife came home Wed and said the key didn't work. I figured the lock had frozen due to the weather so I went out and first warmed the key with a lighter, didn't work. Next tried using lock thaw, didn't work. Felt like it was a mechanical problem with the lock. So the wife caled the post office and complained. They said they had received other similar complaints and would fix it. The next night, same problem. Took them two days to finally get it fixed.
The post office's response to the second time my wife called: "You might have too much mail in the box and that has caused the lock to be inoperable." Is there any wonder they are having problems...
