The left and right fenders are not perfect mirror images of each other. I think what you are describing can be seen from the top also. If you stand on your bumper and look straight down at the front edge of the fenders, one will appear to be longer, or protrude further forward, than the other. I don't remember which one is which at the moment.
I don't know if all WDX-WM300 fenders are this way, but it is very common to find this difference between the two on any given truck.
