Before the part gets rolled, it's a slor in the end. It's there for a drop of oil from time to time.

The pins have knurling under the head. The knurling should catch the door side, then the pin should turn in the cab part. The long pin is for the mirror, not only is the pin longer but so is the knurling. I guess the knurling is supposed to help hold the mirror in place. Thew pins are a bit larger than 1/4", so there s a shoulder at the threads. Using a long pin without a mirror means threading it a bit more so the nut tightens, and it might be a good idea to chuck it in a drill and file off some knurling.
