If it happens again he may have bigger problems. We were having our tractors fuel filters plus up and it ended up being a fungus/bacteria in the fuel. If his filter is slimy or the fuel looks a little dark it might be that.
Only cure is to drain fuel, drop the tank and steam clean it out. We switched fuel suppliers after that and they put in an additive that kept it from happening. Never had the problem again. Long shot but thought I'd mention it. Kevin
