My Father was in command of a truck Company in Europe in WW2. If I remember coerrectly he had 21 GMC 2 1/2 ton trucks, a couple of WCs and a Jeep (his) Plus trailers for all. He said the NDTs were fine on dry roads, but on the wet or snowy roads they were darn dangerous. They had numerous accidents slipping and skidding on wet or snowy roads. He was in a WC that slid off the road and flipped over, killing one and injuring several. He was not hurt. We once watched a movie about the Battle of the Bulge, the vehicles were all sporting tire chains. He piped right up, HEY, we didnt have chains! He and his Company spent the entire Battle of the Bulge behind enemy lines, and were never detected, but thats a different story.
I suspect he and all of his drivers would side with the "Few from this Forum" who dont like NDTs.
