Got the '77 crewcab started - first time in 5 years the PO said. All the lights even worked. Didn't bring it home yet, maybe tomorrow.
It has a 318/4spd, full-time FWD. The body is really good, considering. I've had two sweptline-era crewcabs and they were both rusted completely out. I don't have them anymore, but I do have a '70 w200 single cab, also rusted out, that I retired recently. I'd love to have the '70 running gear under this '77 cc - big knuckle front end, 205 TC, PTO/winch, custom HD rear springs.
Is that crazy? Maybe I should be chasing later running gear? I'm sure I want to get away from the 203 transfer case and the full-time front end.
Thanks for any suggestions - feel free to point me to threads I might have missed, or other links. Thanks!
