... the old guys hold onto this stuff like it's made of gold (which it sometimes is, but still...). How many times have any of us pitched some of our more senior citizens about the rusty car/truck/bulldozer/Sherman tank buried in brush in his back 40, only to be told that it "just needs a battery" and he's "gonna to fix her up some day"? A lot. I tend to think that just having it there does him some good, like having an old friend around, at a time when the live ones are getting harder to find.
I'd say it's a free country.
