ABS brakes

Last night after dinner with my father came out to start my 2001 Dodge Ram and the panel lights for ABS and Brake wouldn't go off, plus I had a soft brake. Never had this happen to me before. What would cause this and what do I do to correct this today since this presently is my only vehicle to drive. Wife had a minor fender bender last week in her car....Thanks....
