i currently do not have any gears available for sale. i had bought about 100 of them from mike in new york a couple of years ago and offered them for sale here. these were stainless steel and were laser cut and tumbled to de-burr them they were broached as the originals were. these were pretty good gears and could be installed pretty easy. since then i have switched to machined gears without the broach. the operation and smoothness of these gears is far superior to the laser cut stainless steel ones. unfortunately these are not broached and must be welded on. tig is the preffered method, although in a pinch i stick weld them on. with the welding being the method of attaching the new gears to the shafts, the shafts should be removed from the casting to prevent melting of the casting. typically i find that if enough force has been used to strip the gears that the housing is usually warped and needs tweaked back into shape. this can make the project of changing gears a real hassle and i do not want to be the source of anyones aggravation when it comes to working on their truck. to date i have rebuilt at least 150 of these regulators and i keep trying ways to improve the process to make them work and look better.
regards, dan m
