Interesting question Randy.
Normaly I would tell you no...because I don't like the look of clear coat paint systems. It doesn't look authentic or old.
I prefer solid color poly urethane, epoxies or even just acrylic enamel on a vintage truck.
That's what this started as but I painted it flat orange. I wanted the whole exterior flat like a mint cond original that had been out in the sun all its life....& I must say...it looked unbelievable in flat orange & black...I tellz ya!
Half way through the project, my father had to have the truck since he's the owner of the company. Only problem was he hated the flat paint.
I gave in & clear coated it...that's the long & short of it :)
