I have rebuilt a few latches. Not to hard. You can find good star wheels in the rear doors of 4 door cars. the latches are not the same, but may have parts. VPW has repros of drivers side star wheels in aluminum. They have bend tabs to take them apart and you may need to collect a few to get good springs and other parts. The axle for the star wheel has a rivet that needs to be drilled to get the star wheel off. Don't really need to re-rivet on reassembly.
If it is jammed closed, try to unscrew the receiver plate on the door jam or cut the receiver plate. Try to find good receiver plates too.
As I recall you might have to drop the window regulator to get the latch out. Then might as well redo the weather strip too.
