The consensus seems to be that either all the flatheads or at least all the industrial flatheads (depending on who you talk to) came with stellite valve seats and so should be okay with unleaded. I couldn't say, looking at an old pitted or worn valve and seat, whether it was due to unleaded gas, excessive miles, condensation and rust, or something else. I have not seen a flathead yet where the valve seats had receded any noticeable amount due to wear, though I'm sure it happens.
