I've changed them on a 99 Dodge at 113K and they were only carbon covered, no wear. I changed them on my 2000 ferd and they were still in great shape, asked around and the word was with the new plug metals, and the vehicle controls plugs just didn't wear out. But each vehicle and manufacture are different.
