I would not shoot Colibris at a rat that was sitting on something I cared about. they have just enough power to do damage. plus you have to flush the rat. If I have to shoot them directly, I use that .22 snake shot, but even that can do damage.
The hav-a-hart never fails, just takes a night or two.
