It still looks like a normal wiper attachment to me. There is an aluminum "drum" with a tapered hole that fit over a tapered knurled steel shaft. I'm not sure why the drums usually have a hole in the side. I've never seen one with a pin in it. The catch is that the drum gets itself very tightly stuck to the shaft over the years. The obvious way to get it off is to pry it up with a crow bar, which will dent the truck and probably bust the wiper motor. It's too small for any standard type of puller to go on, so I made one with a slot cut in bar stock to go behind the drum, and another bar with holes for screws to go through and thread into the slotted bar, and then a middle screw that's small enough to screw down against the end of the shaft to press it off. Sometimes the drum drum has a solid top so that won't work. If you're lucky, heat may be enough to get it loose since the drum is aluminum and the shaft is steel, and it's easy to heat the drum up quite a bit before the shaft gets hot.

The bottom line is unless yours is different from anything I've seen there isn't anything tricky hidden inside it, just a tapered fit that's gotten tightly wedged and corroded together over the years.
